The charro outfit is an expression of Mexican cultural identity and honor. The charro, a symbol of Mexican equestrian culture, emerged from the indigenous cowboys who worked on Spanish haciendas. Their riding styles and flamboyant outfits were used to denote stature. The craftsmanship of the embroidery and garment making process were often passed down over generations.
The level of detail, high contrast color combinations and reverence for craft have inspired us many times over. While we have the toro motif in the center akin to our Los Vaqueros shorts, we feel the hand drawn ornamentation of the Charro shorts elevates these pieces to a more sophisticated place.
These shorts are satin and fit true to American sizes.
