Nicknamed \"Auntie\" by her gym (The Old Guard Boxing Club, in Austin, TX), she has been a hobbyist practitioner of Muay Thai for 10 years. She is a licensed referee and judging official in Texas, and has worked tournaments like the TBA-SA Classic, the Southern Region Tournament and the Texas Muay Thai Championships, as well as dozens of promotion fights and scrimmages. She is a health coach by profession and works with first responders and public sector employees.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003eTanya was diagnosed with breast cancer (stage 3) in May of 2026. She successfully underwent three surgeries, and was declared cancer-free by her surgeon in September. \u003cspan\u003ePart of getting cancer-free included losing 30 of her lymph nodes on her left side. She now has a life-long risk of developing lymphedema (swelling of the limbs). So her surgeon recommended she get a medical-grade lymphedema pump machine. Her insurance covers 80% of this, but she has to come up with $1,800 to pay for it. Tanya has deeply benefited from having a patient-navigator - who is also a breast cancer survivor (and x3 cancer survivor.) BCRC offers this service, as well as support groups and other assistance at no cost. In fact, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\"the founders had two unbreakable rules: No woman would ever be charged for any of BCRC’s programs or services, and the BCRC would never recommend any particular physician, practice, or hospital.\" BCRC provides an incredible service at the most terrifying part of the breast cancer journey.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv xmlns=\"http:\/\/www.w3.org\/1999\/xhtml\"\u003eTanya's overall prognosis looks good. \u003cspan\u003eShe is currently starting 12 weeks of chemotherapy, followed by a month of radiation therapy. Her primary treatment will be done in February of 2027.
